How do I measure my artwork or item in order to frame?

Before ordering your frame and accessories, measure the exact dimensions of the item you are planning on framing to the nearest 1/8th of an inch. If the item you intend to frame includes matting, please base your measurement on the dimensions of the matting rather than the item.

Please note: the dimensions entered for width and height are interchangeable and will result in a frame of the same size. The orientation of your item will determine the orientation of the frame.

What materials are your frames made of?

CFC uses premium solid wood mouldings to make all of our frames. Our frames are of the highest quality solid wood and come in a variety of finishes.

How do I use your website?

Browse through our extensive online selection of frames and choose your desired style. Follow the sizing instructions on the product page and add the item to your cart. If you require plexiglass/acrylic front or backing, you can find those under the "Accessories" tab in the top menu – choose the size and add the item to your cart.

What does the Rabbet specification of a moulding mean?

The rabbet is a recess cut along the edge of the frame in which your item or work of art is placed. The size of the rabbet defines the depth of the recess. The size does not typically affect the framing of artwork – this is because various-sized offset clips or framing points can be used to meet the needs of any artwork depth / rabbet depth combination.

Do you accept returns on custom items?

Yes, CFC does allow custom orders to be returned, for any reason. We will refund the cost of the custom item(s) returned, minus a 30% restocking fee within 14 days from the date the item was shipped (note: shipping fees are not refundable). To do so, simply reply to your confirmation email requesting a return authorization. Please refer to our Policies page for more details.

What if there is an issue with my order?

If your item arrives with a sizing or workmanship error or if it was damaged during shipping, then you are fully covered. Please e-mail us a photo of the issue or damage and we will have it replaced. For more information about what is covered and not covered for replacement, please refer to our Policies page.

Will my frame come pre-assembled?

Small frames are typically shipped pre-assembled. In order to keep shipping costs low and avoid shipping damage, medium to large frames are normally shipped ready-to-assemble.

Assembling frames is simple and requires no special tools. Please refer to our Framers Guide link for an illustrative guide. If you prefer to have your frames pre-joined, please note it on the special instructions field in the cart. Requests will be accommodated as long as they fall within UPS and FedEx oversize package threshold policies and do not significantly impact your shipping costs. If they do, we will let you know before shipping.

Will the colour of the frame I receive vary from what I see on the website?

Photos displayed on the website are accurate colour representations, and there is little, if any, variance in colour due to manufacturing. Since device monitor and colour display settings can vary, there may also be variations in how customers perceive colours displayed on this website. We have categorized our frames by colour to aid in minimizing this issue.
